In 2008 I had a dream that made no sense whatsoever to me. I was walking in a remote area on a dirt road. As I am walking, I see a dark-skinned man working with a horse on a lead rope. This man was having issues with the horse. The horse was rearing up and fighting the man. I walk over to this man and asked him “Can I help you?”. He says ‘Yes” and hands the horse over to me. As I began working with the horse I woke up.

I knew this dream meant something on a spiritual level, but I could not figure it out. Who was the dark-skinned man? Where was I and what was I doing in this place? It was four years later when I started to get an understanding.

Who We Are

Healing Word Ministries LLC is an evangelical organization that works along side of the Oyate Lakota (Lakota People) to help bring hope and healing through a relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that in order to achieve that we must first reach out and help them by meeting their physical needs and building personal relationships. They must see the love of Christ working through us.

Healing Word Ministries LLC began as a family ministry in the year 2000. We traveled locally, with our three young children, ministering in the Word and with music. As we went to the local youth detention center, nursing homes, local festivals, and churches we discovered that music would bring peace and joy. When we would take our small band to the local Alzheimers unit the residents would even get up and dance!

After our children grew up and left home the ministry focus changed. My daughter and I began going to the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and eventually the Pine Ridge Reservation.

What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. In order to come back to God we must be born again.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must be willing to turn from our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts and grow in character by practicing the fruit of the Spirit.

We believe Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever so believers should pray for the sick, expect answers to prayer, and pursue the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
